Wednesday 8 July 2020 - Statement from Mayor Cr Jeff Springfield

"Council acknowledges the announcement by the Victorian Government to reinstate Stage 3 "Stay at Home" restrictions across metropolitan Melbourne, which includes all of Cardinia Shire, from 11:59pm on Wednesday 8 July for 6 weeks.

"It is vitally important that we continue to work together and follow the advice from health authorities to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

"We understand that the latest announcement may be disappointing and may feel like a set-back. For our community, our businesses, our community groups. But we are a strong community and together we will get through this.

"We encourage everyone to follow the state guidelines, and continue to take care of yourselves and each other.

"Council is following and supporting state health requirements, and we express our sincere gratitude to all of the health and support teams working so hard in the best interests of our community.

"We are also grateful for all community members who have been tested, and to everyone who continues to do the right thing by following the guidelines that are in place.

"Please continue to take care of yourselves and each other."
