Menzies Creek and Clematis Community Strengthening Bushfire Project
Residents of Menzies Creek and Clematis are encouraged to give feedback regarding bushfire risk and preparation within their communities.
The survey is part of the Menzies Creek and Clematis Community Strengthening Bushfire Project, which is jointly funded by the CFA and the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DEWLP). The project is endorsed and supported by both the Cardinia Shire Council and the Yarra Ranges Council.
The survey will give residents the opportunity to provide feedback on:
- their concerns in relation to being prepared for a bushfire
- how prepared for a bushfire they believe they are as individuals
- how prepared for a bushfire they believe their town is
- what they believe would help them be more prepared for a bushfire.
It is envisaged that through community engagement, council, the CFA, DEWLP and local residents will develop a shared understanding of the current level of bushfire and emergency preparedness in Menzies Creek and Clematis.
It is also hoped that the survey will assist in fostering leadership within the communities and identify local solutions to bushfire risks.
