Business Recovery Modules

Local businesses are invited to a series of free online sessions to help them on the road to COVID-19 recovery.

The sessions have been developed in collaboration with Cardinia Shire Council’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Committee and local businesses.

The sessions being held are:

1. Organising for Growth (Ian Ash) 9am - 10am

A business’ ability to grow is very much a function of the way the business owner thinks. This module introduces the concept of “Growth Mindset’ to facilitate a new way of thinking, discusses why having the right structure is critical for every type of business and provides simple mechanisms for creating a plan to properly manage the growth opportunities.

2. How to Double Net Profit (Ian Ash) 10.30am – 11.30am

It is a little-known fact that it is surprisingly easy to double net profit. After having established some financial fundamentals, this module demonstrates how this can be done using a simple example and describes how the business model used can be a valuable to aid to predicting the performance of any business. 

3. Finance Tips & Tricks (Ian Ash) 12pm – 1pm

Many business owners prefer to leave the financial side of it to their bookkeeper and/or accountant, but there really is no substitute for properly understanding your business financials. This module describes how to create a simple company budget, effectively manage your expenses and determine how to calculate your ‘break-even’ position.

4. Effective Sales (Ian Ash) 2pm – 3pm

Businesses simply cannot grow without increasing sales, but how many people know how to do this effectively? In the space of an hour we will look at the sales model of today, cover the “3 Golden Rules of Sales”, the AIDCA Sales Model and identify 4 simple ways to increase sales.

5. Powerful Marketing (Ros Weadman) 3.30pm – 4.30pm

In a crowded marketplace, having a great reputation is the best sales and marketing strategy a business can have! This module will explore how brands can forge a deep connection with their customers by aligning their company culture,communications,and customer experience. This alignment builds brand credibility, fosters trust and drives a positive reputation.

Ian Ash is Managing Director of OrgMent Business Solutions, established in 2009 to provide practical mentoring, coaching, training and advice to business leaders across a wide variety of industries. He is passionate about seeing businesses and business leaders achieve whilst also maintaining work/life harmony and relationships and applies a pragmatic approach to achieve this. A former shire Business Award judge, Ian is currently coaching and advising a number of CEOs and local business owners. He also manages a successful recruitment business.

Ros Weadman is an award-winning authority on public relations and marketing communications with a career spanning 35+ years. The founder of Marcomms Australia, Ros specialises in building the visibility, credibility and marketability of brands so they stand apart in a crowded global marketplace. She is the author of two books: “BrandCode®”, a PR and marketing guide for small business; and “The Reputation Equation”, a book about building brand credibility and driving a great reputation.
