News>Visual merchandising workshop
| Media release: 22 October 2009 | | With Christmas approaching, small business operators are invited to learn about the secrets and successes of visual merchandising at an event at the Cardinia Cultural Centre on Thursday 29 October.
Ching Ching Lee, Retail Consultant and Visual Merchandiser, will present retailers with tips on creating thriving displays, and will showcase examples of global trends in retail design and visual merchandising.
Mayor Cr Bill Pearson said this is a not to be missed event for small business retailers who need all the support they can get during challenging economic times.
“The lead up to Christmas is a good time for small retailers to look at their displays, make them exciting and encourage purchases.
“There are some great examples of local best-practice shop ‘make-overs’ that will benefit local business, we want to ensure expenditure stays in Cardinia Shire,” said Cr Pearson.
Hosted by Cardinia Shire Council, the Practical Art of Visual Merchandising presentation will be held from 6pm–8pm at Cardinia Cultural Centre, Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham.
Tickets are $20 per participant and sandwiches, tea and coffee will be provided on arrival.
This presentation is being offered to Pakenham retailers, and the broader retail community to help them prepare for the pre-Christmas trading period.
Council has agreed to provide funds and support for promoting Pakenham as a shopping destination during the disruptions caused by the Woolworths construction.
