| Cardinia's Best Start Vision | | Our vision is to serve the families of Cardinia and to discover and learn from local data and information.
We aim to continue in successful partnership with service providers in order to develop the health and wellbeing of all our children.
The Best Start approach is to strengthen the local capacity of parents, families, communities and early year’s services to improve provisions available for the needs of all young children and their families.
Best Start is a prevention and early intervention project that aims to improve the health, development, learning and wellbeing of all Victorian children from conception to eight years of age.
Best Start improves outcomes for children by bringing together parents, health education, community services and government at the local level in new partnerships that concentrate on ways to better meet the needs of all young children and their families. It is the strength of the community partnerships that have proven to be the cornerstone of the success of Best Start. Provision of services is for our rural townships through to our rapidly increasing growth corridor areas.
The project was launched on Thursday October 26th 2006. An Early Years Survey was sent to families who had a child in Prep in 2006. Community Consultation occurred across the Shire in January and February 2007.
The Best Start Partnership is funded by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) and consists of around twenty Early Childhood Services from around the Shire. The Partnership continues to meet bi-monthly and are focused on delivering outcomes as outlined in its Action Plan.
