News>Local teens become Live and Loud!
| Media release: 2 October 2009 | | More than 100 young people attended the Live, Loud and Local gig at the Bunyip Hall on Friday 25 September 2009.
The event, hosted by Electric Productions (Cardinia Shire Council’s FReeZA Committee) saw 5 talented bands perform a range of musical styles with original songs.
The crowd pleasers included; local musicians Andrew Swift, Summer of Betrayal and Just My Luck, who took to the stage alongside Into Delirium and This Town, A Forest.
Youth Services Officer Carrolyn Agius said it was exciting to have the opportunity to host a FReeZA event in Bunyip.
“We hope future Bunyip gigs may be held at the Bunyip Multipurpose auditorium which is nearing completion,” Ms Agius said.
The Live, Loud and Local gig is part of the Cardinia Shire Council Youth Services ongoing commitment to providing a range of programs, services and events to young people across the Shire.
Electric Productions will host two final youth events for 2009.
On Wednesday 28 October there will be the annual Music Industry Night 2009 held at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Pakenham.
The annual Music Industry Night will provide up and coming local artists with the chance to hear a range of guest speakers from the music industry and network with other local artists.
The final Electric Productions gig for 2009 will be held at the Pakenham Hall, Corner of John and Henry Streets on 18 December.
This will be the last youth event held at this venue.
A new library and hall is being developed in Pakenham at the John St site with construction anticipated to commence in late 2009 or early 2010.
