| A new and improved Community Atlas which provides statistical maps of Cardinia Shire can now be viewed through this website.
The maps in the atlas provide a visual representation of statistics about people living in Cardinia Shire and they way they live.
It includes statistical variables such as age, ethnicity, travel to work methods, education levels, household type, income and access to the internet.
The Atlas illustrates some interesting information about the people living in Cardinia Shire an example being: the median age in the Growth Area of the shire (Pakenham, Officer, Beaconsfield) is 25 to 29 years old, while in the rural areas of the shire the median age is 40 years of age.
There are 59 maps in the online Community Atlas, which are created using information from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Census of Population and Housing, 2006.
The Community Atlas as been developed by id. Consulting (informed decisions), Council’s consultant demographers.
The website is very user friendly with the maps being able to be downloaded into word documents.
This is a great resource for people who may be doing research on Cardinia Shire whether for business, grant applications or even school and university assignments.
