Township bus service running for school holidays  Printer Friendly

Media release: 15 September 2009

Residents of Lang Lang, Koo Wee Rup and Cardinia will once again be able to access bus services to Fountain Gate, Narre Warren during the September school holidays.

A return bus service will operate from the townships of Lang Lang, Koo Wee Rup and Cardinia to Fountain Gate, Narre Warren.

It will run twice daily on Tuesday September 22, Friday September 25, Tuesday September 29, and Friday 2 October during the school holidays.

The bus service is an initiative of the Casey Cardinia Transport Connections project Bringing It Together.

Project coordinator Michael Walsh said the service provides affordable travel for people of all ages to go and see a movie, catch up with friends, attend medical appointments and use services such as Centrelink.

“The holiday service has been well patronised since it began in September of last year,” he said.

Western Port Roadlines will once again operate the service which has provision for people requiring wheelchair access.

A timetable and details of the service will be distributed to households in Lang Lang and Koo Wee Rup before the commencement of the September school holidays.

The Casey Cardinia Transport Connections Project Bringing it Together is funded through the Victorian Government’s Transport Connections program, a cross government initiative to help communities work together to improve local transport.
