News>Check out MYBus in your town these school holidays
| Media release: 15 September 2009 | | Cardinia Shire Council Youth Services will again be offering a range of activities from the Mobile Youth Bus over the spring school holidays.
Youth Outreach Officer Kelly Hicks said the Mobile Youth Bus provides young people aged 12-25 years of age the opportunity to use the range of interactive, educational and fun resources which are on the bus.
Fellow Youth Outreach Officer James Oakley said the school holidays was a great time for young people who have not yet checked out MYBUS to come a long and take a look. There is no cost to young people to come onto the bus.
“We are keen to have young people around the shire visit the bus and have fun these holidays with the activities we are running,” he said.
“Having the Mobile Youth Bus enables us to bring activities to young people in their local area.”
The introduction of the Mobile Youth Bus is one of the key deliverables outlines in Cardinia Shire Council’s Youth Strategy 2007-2011, which has now been fulfilled when MYBus took to the road in June this year.
The bus will visit Lang Lang and Koo Wee Rup on Tuesday 22 September, Emerald and Cockatoo on Wednesday 23 September, Gembrook and Maryknoll on Thursday 24 September and Pakenham on Friday 25 September.
In the second week of the holidays: Upper Beaconsfield and Beaconsfield on Tuesday 29 September, Bunyip and Nar Nar Goon on Wednesday 30 September, Garfield and Tynong on Thursday 1 October and Pakenham on Friday 2 October.
The Mobile Youth Bus is proudly sponsored and supported by the Department of Planning and Community Development through the Community Support Fund, Cardinia Transit, Signarama, Rotary Clubs of Pakenham, Kooweerup and Bunyip and AVAN Campers and Movers.
