| Media release: 27 August 2009 | | The CEO of Cardinia Shire Council, Mr Garry McQuillan, will address the business community of Cardinia Shire from 6.30–8.30pm on Thursday, 10 September at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
The topic, ‘Securing Cardinia’s Future’, will cover Council’s business initiatives and future development plans for the Shire.
The event is also an opportunity for local business people to meet, network and learn more about what is on offer within the Shire’s business community.
“Business and development in the Shire of Cardinia are moving at a rapid pace to keep up with our growing residential population and Government expectations under Melbourne 2030,” said Mr McQuillan.
“A lot of the changes can and will have a direct effect on local businesses and I look forward to discussing them with our business community,” he added.
“Whilst this can be challenging, it is also an exciting time as our community moves way beyond the fledgling stage and faces up to new ways of generating and expanding local business opportunities.”
“These include cultivating a skilled local workforce and jobs close to home that in turn support family life,” said Mr McQuillan.
“We are aiming for a long-term, vibrant and viable business community in the Shire of Cardinia,” he added.
The CEO’s address to the business community is a free event but prior registration is essential.
