News>Speak up! Council wants to hear from you!
| Media release: 27 August 2009 | | Young people throughout the Cardinia Shire are reminded time is running out to have a say on life for young people in the Shire.
On-line surveys can be submitted through Council’s website until 5pm on 4 September 2009 or submitted in hard copy format to the Shire offices in Henty Way Pakenham.
All participants automatically go into the draw for an iPod shuffle or one of five iTunes vouchers.
Youth Development Officer Kerrie Loveless said Council has high regard for the ideas and opinions of young people on life for them in the Shire.
“We are aiming for 2000 responses and whilst we are on the way, we would still like to hear from more young people as part of the 2009 Youth Forum.
“Young people are the experts on their lives and they are often come up with good solutions to issues concerning them,” she added.
“The Youth Forum is a great opportunity for young people to provide feedback on issues of concern as well as inform Council of their future aspirations.”
“Survey respondents can feel proud they are contributing to decision making in our community and we continue to encourage young people to speak up and be involved in opportunities such as this,” said Ms Loveless.
To obtain a hardcopy of the survey telephone 1300 787 624 or call into Council’s offices in Henty Way. Alternatively, complete the survey on line in the Young People section of this website.
