Home>Young people>Check out youth support services
The youth support program is short-term support for young people who live in or have strong links to Cardinia.
The program provides one-to-one intervention for young people experiencing things such as relationship difficulties, personal problems or issues at school or home.

| Who can see a youth support worker? Anybody aged 10–25 years who lives in or has strong links to Cardinia Shire can access this service.
Where can I see a youth worker? Appointments can be made with Cardinia Shire Council Youth Services and clients can be seen at a location close to where they live, or even at their school.
Will the youth worker tell anybody what we talk about? What you tell the youth worker will remain between you and the worker; however, there may be times where the worker will need to talk to other services with your permission. The youth worker is not allowed to do this without your permission UNLESS he or she thinks that you are going to hurt yourself or somebody else.
I want to talk to somebody – how long will I have to wait? The amount of time you may need to wait to see a youth support worker will depend on whether there is a vacancy at the time. Young people may be referred to specialist services where appropriate.
So how do I organise to see a youth worker? Call Council and organise to see a youth worker on 1300 787 624. Parental consent is required for young people under 16 years of age.
If you are a service provider and wish to refer a young person to the service, please download the referral form below and post to Cardinia Shire Council Youth Services, PO Box 7, Pakenham 3810. | |
