Australia Day Awards

Our Australia Day Awards give you the opportunity to recognise and reward individuals who make an outstanding contribution to your local community.

Nominations for the 2017 Australia Day awards will open 9am, Monday 6 June, 2016 for the following categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Senior Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year

Nominations will close at 2pm, Friday 4 November, 2016.

2016 Australia Day award winners

  • Citizen of the Year: Ronald Ingram
  • Senior Citizen of the Year: Peter Maloney
  • Young Citizen of the Year: Molly White
  • Community Event of the Year: 2015 Lang Lang Rodeo
  • Community Organisation of the Year: Pakenham Football Club
  • Community Services Award (a significant contribution from a non- resident): Bob Walker

Australia Day events in Cardinia Shire

Annual Australia Day events are celebrated throughout the shire, including in Koo Wee Rup, Lang Lang, Bunyip and Cockatoo.
