Township strategies

Township strategies guide how an area will develop. Each strategy outlines key issues, objectives and actions in relation to the environment, residential, economic and community development, physical infrastructure, traffic, transport and urban design.

The main factors contributing to the implementation of a township strategy include the size of the population and the rate or requirement for development.

Strategies under review

The township strategies are periodically reviewed. The process provides Council with an opportunity to evaluate the progress achieved to date and to determine what new issues have emerged. As part of the revision, a public consultation process provides an opportunity for residents, businesses and groups such as township committees, local community groups and other government agencies, to have their say in the future direction of the township. This contribution plays a critical role in the formation and implementation of the strategy.
