| Chief executive officer – Garry McQuillan | | Garry McQuillan has management and financial qualifications as well as a long history in local government with previous senior positions at the Shire of Portland and the Shire of Hastings. Garry also held the position of Manager Governance and Policy and Special Projects with the City of Boroondara before going to the City of Fairfield in NSW as Manager Governance and Risk.

| General manager assets and development services – Michael Ellis | | Michael Ellis joined Cardinia Shire Council in March 2000.
'The key objective in Assets and Services in the past 12 months has been the development of asset management strategies covering all Council’s infrastructure aimed at maximising asset performance and extending the assets’ effective life.
A progressive road improvement program has commenced; infrastructure development plans are being prepared for the urban growth corridor; we are working in partnership with the community to develop our key parks and gardens and we are working closely with the Metropolitan Waste Management Group to ensure the provision of the most effective, economical and environmentally sound waste management services.' |  |
| General manager corporate services – Neil Thorpe | | Neil commenced in the role in May 2007 having performed a range of financial and corporate services roles in both the private sector and for the past 10 years in local government. Neil is a qualified accountant and a member of CPA Australia.
Neil has been heavily involved in a number of sector wide financial issues including developing the ICAA Model Budget for local government and is a past President of Local Government Finance Professionals.
Portfolio includes: Finance, Property and Rates, Governance, Information Technology, Information Management, Local Laws and Corporate Business Alignment.

| General manager community wellbeing – Fiona Hodges | | Fiona Hodges commenced the role in October 2002 having performed a range of community services and recreation roles within the organisation.
Her extensive community experience includes 10 years in secondary education, volunteer and professional roles in the sport and recreation sector from club to state level organisations as well having been a director in small business.
This broad experience has equipped her with a sound foundation to set direction across her portfolio in regard to the community services, arts, culture, recreation, leisure and employment needs of the current and future population. |  |
| General manager planning and development – Phil Walton | | Phil has been with Cardinia Shire Council since 1995. He is a qualified planner who also holds qualifications in business management.
As leader of council's planning and development services, Phil's responsibilities cover a wide range of activities from strategic planning to statutory planning.
Portfolio includes: Strategic Planning, Statutory Planning, Township Planning, Planning Enforcement, Building. |  |
| Manager organisation development – Di Ashton | | Di joined the organisation in July 2001 as the HR coordinator and is now Manager Organisation Development. Di is tertiary qualified and has extensive human resources experience mainly in the local government and government sectors.
'The organisation is facing and will continue to face exciting times ahead. Our challenge is to develop and support staff, to provide them with the competencies they require as well as to attract the highest calibre staff in order to deliver outstanding service to our customers.
A key priority will be the enhancement of “The Cardinia Way” with a focus on providing staff with the competencies to deliver the highest quality customer service.'
