 Mental Health Week - Come and Try Art Day

Renowned Melbourne author, playwright, visual artist, Barry Dickins will help launch Art to Live By exhibition. The exhibition launch includes a ‘come and try day’ with free art workshops, speakers, entertainment, local support service displays and information for local artists interested in working in the field. Heidi Everett, a singer/songwriter living with a mental illness and featured recently on Andrew Denton’s ‘Angels and Demons’ will perform. Workshop participants will talk about their experiences of mental illness and the value of art making in their recovery.

This spring harvest event is held at Pakenham Racecourse, Racecourse Road, Pakenham from 8am until midday.

The event brings together local asparagus farmers, talented chefs and keen consumers who have been eagerly waiting for the first crop of asparagus to arrive.

The market will be abuzz with delicious cooking demonstrations by the Aparagus Council and local chefs.

A real treat for children will be the supervised children cooking classes, asparagus races,face painting and a wonderful animal farm.

A gold coin entry donation to the market will support Toomuc CFA.

 Up @ The Drive In

On Saturday, 31st October, "Movies on the Move" will be presenting a
special screening of the latest Pixar animation film "Up". It will be screened
in our very own church carpark! So come along to our Drive-In and bring
your family and friends. This is a new release film which is suitable for all
ages. The movie will start at approximately 8:00 p.m. so make sure you
come earlier to park your car and get ready for a fun night. If it's a nice
night, you are also welcome to bring chairs to sit outside. Invite your
friends and come along. The cost is $20 per car or $5 per person if you
bring a chair (and not your car). Proceeds from the night will go towards
Matt Swanton's mission trip on the Logos Hope. See you there!
